2 health workers among 8 diagnosed with Covid-19 in Natore
Eight people, including two health workers of Singra Health Complex, were found infected with Covid-19 in Natore district.
Civil Surgeon Dr Kazi Mizanur Rahman revealed the information on Tuesday night, saying a dead person and two health workers of Singa Health Complex were among those diagnosed with Covid-19.
The local administration have put Singra municipality area, Nazipur in Gurudaspur upazila, and Agadia and Tebaria areas in Sadar upazila under lockdown to prevent the transmission of coronavirus from the infected people.
145 samples tested; one diagnosed with Covid-19 in Kishoreganj
One person tested positive for coronavirus in Kishoreganj in the last 24 hours till Tuesday, raising hope among people in their fight against the virus.
Kishoreganj Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Mujibur Rahman said samples of 149 people were sent for lab testing on Friday and reports of 145 samples were received on Tuesday night which confirmed only one person was infected with coronavirus.
Man killed by ‘elder brother’ in Khulna
A man was killed reportedly by his elder brother over a land dispute at Gazipur village in Terokhada upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Islam Sheikh, 33, son of Shahjahan Sheikh of the upazila.
Quoting locals, Mostafa Kamal, officer-in-charge of Terokhada Police Station, said Islam Sheikh and his elder brother Jamil Sheikh had been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.
Around 9pm, both the siblings locked into an altercation over the issue and at one stage, Jamil hit Islam with a sharp weapon, leaving him injured.
The injured was taken to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Dhaka’s air still ‘unhealthy’
Although all the activities, including vehicular movement, remained halted in the capital amid the ongoing nationwide shutdown aimed at curbing coronavirus, Dhaka ranked fourth worst in the Air Quality Index (AQI) on Wednesday morning.
It had an AQI score of 155 at 08:24am. The air was classified as ‘unhealthy’.
Another cop tests coronavirus positive in Chattogram
Another policeman was found infected with coronavirus in Chattogram in the last 24 hours till Tuesday, said Civil Surgeon Sheikh Fazle Rabbi.
The policeman, aged about 50, is posted at Dampara Police Lines of the city.
Besides, five other people tested positive for coronavirus in the division during the period and of them, two were infected twice, said the civil surgeon on Tuesday night.
