Dhaka, Sept 11 (UNB) - The final result of Assistant Teacher Recruitment Exam 2014 of primary schools has been published.
A total 9,767 candidates came out successfully, said a press release issued Monday.
The roll numbers of the successful candidates have been sent to the district education offices, it added.
Besides, the results are available in the Primary and Mass Education Ministry’s website (www.mopme.gov.bd) and the website of the Directorate of Primary Education (www.dpe.gov.bd).
Lalmonirhat, Sept 11 (UNB) – More than 10,000 people of 23 villages in the char areas of Teesta and Dharala rivers have been trapped in flood water following onrush of water from upstream hilly areas.
The trans-boundary Teesta river was flowing 8 cm above the danger level at Doyani point on Tuesday morning.
The officials of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) said the situation became worsened as India had opened the sluice-gates of the Gazaldoba barrage.
“Now, water is entering Bangladesh with a heavy pace,” they added.
Meanwhile, 44 gates of the Teesta Barrage have been opened to control the flow of water.
Besides, the temporary dams in Dhurni village of Hatibandha upazila are also now at risk, they said.
The water level started to rise from Monday morning and the condition is being worsened gradually, according to locals.
BWDB Executive Engineer Rafiqul Alam Chowdhury of Teesta Barrage Irrigation Project said the situation will be worsened more if the onrush of water from upstream hilly areas continues.
Satkhira, Sept 11 (UNB) – Police recovered the bodies of a woman and a man from Nagarghata and Jhorghachha villages of Tala upazila on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Mamtaz Begum, 55, and Gopal Gosh.
Quoting locals, assistant superintendent of police Apu Sarwar of Tala circle police, said Mamtaz’s daughter Tumpa Khatun had a brawl with her mother in the noon.
At one stage, Tumpa hit her mother’s head with an iron stick, leaving her critically injured.
The injured was taken to Satkhira Sadar Hospital from where she was referred to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).
She succumbed to his injuries around 7 pm at KMCH.
Meanwhile, police recovered the body of Ghopal from a water body near his house in the evening.
The body bore several injury marks on it, said the police official.
Rajshahi, Sept 11 (UNB) – A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) at Pakuria-Dhuroil Beel in Mohanpur upazila early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Dulal Miah, 45, son of late Ibrahim, a resident of Harihar village.
AFM Ashraful Islam, deputy commanding officer of Rab-5, said a gang of drug traders numbering around ten tried to flee when a Rab team was patrolling in the area around 1 am.
Being chased by the elite force members, the gang opened fire on them, prompting them to fire back that triggered the gunfight.
Later, the team found Dulal with bullet wounds and took him to Mohonpur Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctors declared him dead.
The team recovered 506 Yaba tablets, a foreign pistol, one round bullet and a magazine from the spot.
Jhenidah, Sept 11 (UNB) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested a young man along with a pistol from Sura village in Harinakundu upazila on Monday afternoon.
The arrestee was identified as Saidul Islam, 32, son of Karom Ali of the village.
On information, a team of Rab-6 conducted the drive in the village and arrested Saidul with a pistol, said Abdullah Al Mehedi, company commander of Jhenidah camp.
A case was filed in this connection Harinakundu Police Station, he added.
