Dhaka, Oct 20 (UNB) – The Centre for Governance Studies (CGS) on Sunday announced a 15-member new advisory board.
According to a CGS press release, the board will help shape and guide the strategy of this independent, nonpartisan autonomous think-tank working closely with the leadership team until December 31, 2021.
The advisory board is comprised of: Brig Gen (retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain, former election commissioner, Bangladesh; Barrister Rokanuddin Mahmud, former president of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association; Prof Dr Habib Zafarullah, University of New England (UNE), Australia; Mir Nasir Hossain, former president of FBCCI; Ambassador Nasim Firdaus, President of Bangladesh Alliance for Women Leadership; Prof Dr Ali Riaz, Distinguished Professor, Illinois State University, USA; Dr Selim Jahan, former director, Human Development Report Office, UNDP, New York; Prof Dr Habibiul Haque Khondker, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, UAE; Dr Saira Khan, International Security Expert, Gerson Lehrman Group, New York; Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury, President, Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI); Dr Mohammad Parvez lmdad, former lead economist of Asian Development Bank; Naila Chowdhury, Director, Social Impact and Innovation, UC San Diego, USA; Shahedul Islam, President, Bangladesh Backward Linkage Association; Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Chief Executive, Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association; and Prof Dr AKM Matiul Alam, President and CEO, World Education Canada.
Dhaka, Oct 20 (UNB)- Leaders and activists of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student front of the opposition BNP, allegedly came under an attack by Muktijuddho Mancha along with Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Dhaka University (DU) campus that leave four injured.
Eyewitness said the incident took place in front of the famed Modhur Canteen around 12.30 pm when the Muktijoddha Mancha, a platform hold a press conference at Modhur Canteen regarding a Facebook status posted by JCD central General Secretary Iqbal Hossain Shyamol.
The injured JCD activists are Mamun Khan, Shahjahan Shaon, Tarek Hasan Mamun and Nayeem were later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for primary treatment.
Mansura Alam, an activist of JCD claimed that Muktijuddho Mancha President Aminul Islam Bulbul, also a vice president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), suddenly carried out the attack on JCD men when they entered the MMencn hhadhur canteen without any reason.
Earlier JCD Central Secretary Iqbal Hossain Shyamol in a press conference held at the Dhaka University Journalists Association (Duja) alleged his Facebook account had been ‘hacked’, as he is unable to post any new updates to it himself.
