Bangladesh bowl first in 3rd ODI against West Indies
Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first in the third and final ODI of the three-match series against hosts West Indies at Guyana Saturday.
Bangladesh did not include Anamul Haque Bijoy in the squad for the third ODI.
The batter recently scored more than 1,100 runs in a single List-A event, which helped him return to the national side after a long gap. However, Anamul failed to impress while playing a Test and three T20Is in the ongoing tour.
Bangladesh won the first ODI match by six wickets. Mehidy Hasan won the player of the match award after taking three wickets for 36 runs.
The Tigers won the second match by nine wickets, and Mehidy picked up four wickets. Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed bagged three wickets in the match and became the player of the match.
Before the ODIs, both teams locked horns in a two-match Test and three-match T20I series. Bangladesh lost all the matches except a T20I which was a no result one because of rain with the West Indies in charge.

Imranur first Bangladeshi athlete to reach 2nd round of World Athletics Champs
Imranur Rahman emerged as the first Bangladeshi athlete to reach the 2nd round of the men's 100-meter sprint of the World Athletics Championship Eugene '2022 in Oregon, USA on Saturday.
Imranur, the fastest man of Bangladesh, took part in heat number 2 and finished 3rd among the six athletes making his individual best timing of 10.47 seconds featuring a new national record Saturday early hour (Bangladesh time).
The previous national record and best timing of Imranur was 10.50 seconds made in the National Athletics Championship held in last January to break the event's 22 years old record.

However, Imranur did not compete in the 2nd round of the meet later due to light injury during day's warm-up session.

Anamul needs to wait more to make a comeback, says Domingo
Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo said right-handed batter Anamul Haque Bijoy needs to wait more before making a comeback to the ODI side.
Anamul played one Test and three ODIs during Bangladesh’s ongoing tour of the West Indies but failed to impress.
The right-handed batter scored more than 1100 runs in the last edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, the most prestigious 50-over event, in Bangladesh which helped him to make a comeback to the national team after a long gap.

“It’s tricky (to not play Anamul),” Domingo said. “He has done really well. But we need to have a left-hander in the side against the West Indies.”
After the second victory in the ODI series, Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal said that they are willing to test their bench strength in the last match, but the opinion of the head coach expressed the other idea.
Bangladesh won the series with victories in the first two matches. They now got a great chance to clean sweep the hosts.
Along with Anamul, Taijul Islam and Ebadot Hossain are the other players who are yet to feature in an ODI in this series. And the hope is really slim for them to get a chance in the final match which is set to take place Saturday at Providence Stadium, Guyana.
Although Bangladesh did well in the ODI series, they have lost all the Tests and T2oIs in this series ahead of the ODIs.
WI vs BAN ODI Series 2022: Bangladesh eye West Indies whitewash
Bangladesh sealed their sixth bilateral ODI series against the West Indies with a 9-wicket victory in the second match of the WI vs BAN ODI Series 2022. The Tigers are now eying to complete their third whitewash against the Caribbean side when both teams meet each other in the third ODI on Saturday (July 16). Besides, finishing the Caribbean tour on a high note would be a major priority for the Bangladesh campaign. The conditions will suit the Bangladesh players as the Providence Stadium assists the spinners to thrive. The third ODI match preview is discussed in this article.
West Indies vs Bangladesh ODI Series 2022: 3rd Match Preview
The bowling unit did the job for Bangladesh in the first two matches. More precisely, the spinners have been outstanding and exploited the Providence ground surfaces very well. Oppositely, the West Indian batting unit has found no clue in dealing with Bangladesh spinners. Therefore, the battle between Caribbean batters and Bangladesh spinners will determine the final outcome of the contest. The third match of the WI vs BAN ODI Series 2022 will be played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on July 16 and will start at 7.30 p.m. (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Bangladesh
Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal wants to give other players in the squad a chance in the third ODI. Therefore, two or three changes may occur in Bangladesh's playing XI for Saturday’s contest. Bangladesh are unlikely to rest any spinners for the match, as they are the team's main weapons in this WI vs BAN ODI Series 2022. Therefore, Taskin, Ebadot, and Anamul may be included in place of Mustafizur, Shoriful, and Shanto.

Bangladesh had chased down low totals in the first two matches, so the batters haven’t gotten enough chances to bat in this series. Tamim Iqbal may opt to bat first in the final match of the series in order to allow the batters to bat deep in the match.
Probable playing XI
Top-Order: Tamim Iqbal (captain), Anamul Haque, Litton Das, Middle-Order: Mahmudullah Riyad, Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan Sohan (wicket-keeper), Mosaddek Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Lower-Order: Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, Nasum Ahmed
West Indies
The Caribbean team has struggled to perform in the ODI format in recent years. They have lost 10 straight ODI matches against Bangladesh. The venue of the WI vs BAN ODI series 2022, the Providence ground, is known for its slowest nature of wicket and the West Indian batters are not well adept at playing the spinners. Therefore, West Indian batters have found it difficult to deal with Bangladesh spinners in this ongoing ODI series.

In the third ODI, the batting unit needs to show that they are capable of playing spin bowling. The team management needs to chalk out a better strategy to outperform the Bangladesh side during the contest. Besides, the players have to respond to the match as per the plan.
Probable Playing XI
Top-Order: Shai Hope (wicket-keeper), Kyle Mayers, Shamarh Brooks, Middle-Order: Keacy Carty, Nicholas Pooran (captain), Rovman Powell, Akeal Hosein, Keemo Paul, Lower-Order: Romario Shepherd, Alzarri Joseph, Gudakesh Motie
Guyana’s Pitch Report and Weather
There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms on Saturday (July 16) in Georgetown, Guyana. The sky is likely to remain partly cloudy as well. Since the chasing team won the first two matches, the toss-winning captain may opt to bat second on this surface in the third ODI.

Verdict
The third match of the WI vs BAN ODI Series 2022 would be a dead-rubber contest since Bangladesh have already sealed the series. However, Bangladesh wouldn’t let a chance to whitewash the West Indian side in the series pass them by. Therefore, they will be all-in for the contest. On the other hand, the West Indies team will play to restore some pride. They will play to win the match and finish the series 2-1.

Sabbir, Soumya added to Bangladesh A team for WI tour
Batters Sabbir Rahman and Soumya Sarkar, who lost the national team place for their lean performance in the international arena, have been added to Bangladesh A team that will tour the West Indies next month.
Sabbir played his last international match against Afghanistan in Chattogram back in September 2019, while Soumya’s last match was against Australia in Dubai in 2021.
Now both the batters get a new chance to revive their international career. If they can do well in the forthcoming tour, the first in many years, of the Bangladesh A team, they might get a call to the national team in the coming years.
Along with them, Mohammad Mithun and Saif Hassan will also tour the West Indies for Bangladesh A. Both Mithun and Saif failed to impress when they played in the national team for the last time.

Spain´s running of the bulls ends with swift race, 6 hurt
Bulls from Spain´s revered Miura ranch starred in a fast and uncomplicated final running of the bulls at this year´s San Fermín Festival on Thursday.
The Navarra regional government said six people were treated for minor injuries following Thursday’s run that lasted just over two minutes. Initially, the Spanish Red Cross said two people needed treatment.
No horn gorings were reported as the Miuras, known for their alertness and speed of reaction, kept mainly in a pack and took little notice of the runners as they raced to the bullring.

One runner escaped serious injury when one bull´s horn appeared to graze the right side of his head before he fell to the ground.
The festival's eighth and final 8 a.m. run saw hundreds of people, mostly men and far fewer than usual, test their agility to accompany six fighting bulls and their guiding steer along an 875-meter (956-yard) route through Pamplona to the city’s bullring. The bulls are killed by professional bullfighters later in the day.
Tens of thousands of visitors attend the Pamplona festival, which was immortalized in Ernest Hemingway’s 1926 novel “The Sun Also Rises.” The festival is also popular for its 24-hour partying.

During this year's festival, which started July 6, four people were gored, none seriously.
Eight people were gored in 2019, the last festival before a two-year hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sixteen people have died in Pamplona’s bull runs since 1910, with the last death in 2009.
Dembélé signs new contract with Barcelona through 2024
Ousmane Dembélé has agreed to sign a new contract with Barcelona through June 2024.
The deal on Thursday comes a day after club president Joan Laporta said Dembélé would stay on during the presentation of new signing Raphinha.
Dembélé, now 25, joined Barcelona in 2017 on a then club-record transfer from Borussia Dortmund that with variables was set to reach 147 million euros (then $173 million) as the club sought a young talent after the unwanted exit of Neymar.
Read: Barcelona reaches deal to sign Raphinha; Dembélé staying
After suffering serious injuries early in his stay at Barcelona, Dembélé consolidated himself as one of its most irreplaceable players thanks to his speed and playmaking.
The new contract concludes a drawn-out negotiation between player and club that appeared to have broken down in January when Dembélé rejected Barcelona's renewal offer, prompting the club to tell his agent to find the France winger a new club.
Dembélé continued to play well for coach Xavi Hernández and remained one of his most used players.
But with his contract expiring this summer, it appeared he would leave. Dembélé was linked to possible moves to England’s Premier League or to Paris Saint-Germain, the team of Neymar and former Barcelona great Lionel Messi. Now he will be considered one of Xavi’s pillars as the coach tries to build a winning side following a season without a title.

The forward has 32 goals and assisted on 34 more in 150 appearances for Barcelona.
As usual, Barcelona did not make his salary public. It is reported Dembélé had one of the highest wages on the squad under his previous contract. Barcelona has successfully convinced several players to take a wage cut as it tries to reduce its enormous debt.
