Despite the day's victory, Rahmatganj remained rooted at the ninth spot with 18 points from 20 matches. Bottom-placed Swadhinata earned nine points from 20 encounters.
After the day's 20th round matches, Swadhinata (9 points), Uttara Baridhara (14 points) and Muktijoddha (15 points) and Rahmatganj MFS (18 points) are left looking over their shoulders at the relegation trap door.
Earlier, Bashundhara Kings stormed past Saif Sporting 2-0 to lift their third Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football title in a row winning a fierce encounter at Bir Shrestha Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj Monday.
Before Monday's match, the Kings earned 49 points in 19 matches. They needed just one win in their remaining three matches against Saif Monday, Dhaka Abahani on July 24 and Sheikh Jamal on July 30 to lift the title for the third time in a row after Dhaka Abahani.
The Sky Blue Brigade clinched the BPL title for a record six times, including three times in a row.
The Kings were crowned champions after securing 51 points from 20 matches with 16 wins, three draws and one loss.
Independence Cup and Federation Cup champions Dhaka Abahani secured 44 points from 20 matches.
WI vs IND ODI Series 2022: India eye whitewash, Windies aim strong show
India’s current ODI team is one of the best in the world, beating England 2-1 recently away from home. Oppositely, the West Indies ODI team is low on confidence at the moment after losing a home series 3-0 to Bangladesh this July. Needless to say, India are the overwhelming favourites to sweep the West Indies in the WI vs IND ODI Series 2022. However, the West Indian team is eager to put up a fighting display in the contest and gain confidence for future fixtures. The ODI series preview is discussed in this article.

West Indies
The West Indies recently suffered a home ODI series loss to Bangladesh after losing to India last February. Thus, the Caribbean team has little reason for optimism over the three-match ODI series against India that gets underway on Friday. This Windies limited-overs setup is seeking a new beginning under the leadership of Nicholas Pooran. The West Indies team will be happy to see that their efforts are making substantial progress. The confidence of the players will increase if they manage to win at least one game in the series. Besides, some of India’s regular members will miss the contest, and the Windies will try to take advantage of it.
Probable Playing XI
Top-Order: Kyle Mayers, Shai Hope, Shamarh Brooks, Middle-Order: Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran (captain & wicket-keeper), Rovman Powell, Akeal Hosein, Keemo Paul, Lower-Order: Romario Shepherd, Alzarri Joseph, Gudakesh Motie
India
In their series against the West Indies, the Indian squad will be without five important players: regular captain Rohit Sharma, experienced player Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant. However, even a quick glance at the Indian team reveals the strength of their backups. With this squad, India can contend with any team in the world. The Indian team management is now concerned about the formation of the playing XI. Who should be given a spot in the playing XI can be argued as everyone has a valid argument for being included in the team. However, the main goal is to beat the Windies by a margin of 3-0, regardless of who plays for the side.
Probable Playing XI
Top-order: Shikhar Dhawan (captain), Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Middle-Order: Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Lower-Order: Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal
Bottom Line
This WI vs IND ODI series 2022 could not have attracted as much attention from fans if a full-strength Indian squad had competed. Everyone anticipates a strong battle between two sides given that some regular squad players, including captain Rohit Sharma have been rested for this series. Can Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian team vanquish the Windies? Or will the Nicholas Pooran-led West Indies side upset the Indian team? The ODI series might be an exciting contest to witness if the home team performs at their highest level.
ENG vs SA 2022: Revived South Africa hope to win ODI series in Manchester
The South African team unexpectedly lost an ODI series against Bangladesh at home last March. They were keen to make a strong statement in the opening match of the ENG vs SA 2022 series that they are a well-capable one-day side. Losing regular skipper Temba Bavuma because of an elbow injury was a blow for the Proteas side prior to the series. However, stand-in captain Keshav Maharaj’s team played brilliantly in the series-opening contest and clinched the match by 62 runs. The visiting side is now aiming to seal the series at Old Trafford on Friday.
England vs South Africa 2nd ODI 2022: Match Preview
The second game of the ongoing one-day international series between England and South Africa will take place on July 22 at Old Trafford in Manchester (Friday). The contest is slated to begin at 6 p.m. (Bangladesh Standard Time).
South Africa have a solid ODI record at Old Trafford. They have won three in their last four games there. On the other hand, England have a strong record at this venue, winning twenty-seven games while losing fifteen. The Proteas team now leads the head-to-head battle with two victories after three meetings between England and South Africa at this stadium.

England
England as a team had a bad outing in the first ODI of the ENG vs SA 2022 series. Bowlers were expensive, and batters couldn’t do their job properly even after a 100-run opening wicket stand. England will need a much improved performance in the second ODI in order to stay alive in the series.
Bowlers need to be disciplined, and not allowing the opposition to construct big partnerships will be vital in the contest. England's openers had a solid start in the first match. However, the English innings started to lose momentum after their departures. England's batters need to be confident against the Proteas spinners and should focus on dominating them in this do-or-die contest.

South Africa
The South African side looked more aggressive than England in the first ODI. They tried to dominate the English side and executed their plan properly. Rassie van der Dussen brilliant hundred, Aiden Markram and Janneman Malan’s fifties guided South Africa to put up a big score to defend.
In England’s conditions, bowlers need to be disciplined to defend any total. The Proteas bowling unit was brilliant with their duties and managed to get breakthroughs when needed. The South African side should be prepared for a bigger challenge in the second match as England will attempt to make a strong comeback in the series.
Probable Playing XI
Top-order: Quinton de Kock (wicket-keeper), Janneman Malan, Rassie van der Dussen, Middle-Order: Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Andile Phehlukwayo, Keshav Maharaj (captain), Lower-Order: Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi.

Manchester’s weather forecast & toss prediction
According to the forecast, Friday in Manchester might see a little light rain. The teams who batted first have won eight of the twelve games over the past five years at Old Trafford, according to statistics. Therefore, the captain who wins the toss may decide to bat first on this ground.
Bottom Line
The Jos Buttler-led England ODI team hasn’t been shown their full potential so far. In addition, all-rounder Ben Stokes' retirement will definitely weaken the squad a bit. However, England have produced plenty of quality limited-overs cricketers in recent years and they will find a suitable replacement for Stokes. The England camp will be eager to see a solid performance from their players in order to level the ENG vs SA 2022 ODI Series.
On the other hand, the South African side is full of confidence after their dominating victory over England in the series-opener. The momentum is currently in South Africa’s favour. It will be a good chance for the Proteas team to clinch the series with a game in hand as England are going through a transitional period.

ICC T20 World Cup 2022: How Hard is Bangladesh’s Group 2?
The Bangladesh national men’s cricket team will play in Group 2 of the Super 12 round in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022. They don’t have to take part in the first round to qualify for the next phase, as they had to in the previous edition. It’s certainly an improvement for the team Tigers, but the teams they will face in the main event will definitely give them a hard time. Besides, the Australian conditions are another major concern for the players' ability to show their true potential in the tournament. Let’s take a look at the teams that Bangladesh will face in Group 2.
2022 T20 World Cup: The participating teams in Group 2
The confirmed participating teams in Group 2 are Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and South Africa. Two more teams will join the group after competing in the first round. Given their respective strengths, the West Indies and Netherlands are likely to advance to the Super 12 Group 2 phase.
Given the current form and strengths, Bangladesh will have to face some tough competition in Group 2. South Africa, Pakistan, and India are the top four T20I teams according to the ICC. On the other hand, if West Indies qualify to play in this group, then facing them will also be a real challenge for the Bangladesh T20I team. Recently, they lost a T20I series against the Caribbean side 2-0. Overall, Bangladesh have five wins and nine defeats against the Windies.

Bangladesh's only hope of winning a game will be against the team that finishes second in Group A in the first round. Except for that match, the other opponents will start as favourites against Bangladesh in their remaining matches. Bangladesh’s records against the other three confirmed teams in the group are very poor. Therefore, expecting good results against them in unfavourable conditions would not be realistic.

Bangladesh vs Pakistan : November 6 | Venue: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide | Start Time: 10 a.m. (BST)
Bottom Line
The majority of Bangladesh’s opponents in Group 2 of the Super 12 phase are the ICC’s top-ranked teams. Teams like India, Pakistan, and South Africa are among the favourites to win the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The West Indies can also surprise everyone if the team finds the right combination during the main event. Therefore, Bangladesh have no realistic chance to qualify for the semifinals. Their main objective in the competition is to compete fearlessly against the difficult rivals. Bangladesh’s 2022 Twenty20 World Cup campaign will be deemed a success if they are able to do this.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Summer Football Transfer 2022: 5 potential destinations
Cristiano Ronaldo is frequently referred to as "Mr. Champions League" for a reason as he holds the records for most appearances (183), most goals (140) and most assists (42) in the tournament’s history. He has never played in any other of UEFA’s club competitions other than the most prestigious Champions League. However, Ronaldo will have no choice but to participate in the Europa League if he plays for Manchester United next season. Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer football transfer 2022 has been one of the hot topics this summer as he wants to leave his current club. What will be Ronaldo’s most likely new club if he indeed leaves the Red Devils this summer? The Portuguese superstar Ronaldo’s five potential moves are discussed in this article.
Summer Football Transfer 2022: 5 prospective destinations for Cristiano Ronaldo
A footballer of Cristiano Ronaldo’s caliber deserves to play in Europe’s elite club competition. Besides, his performance with Man Utd last season was impressive enough to attract clubs who could offer him Champions League football. Having said that, not many clubs can afford his astronomical salary. At 37, he is still one of the highest-paid footballers in the world. This seems to be one of the main stumbling blocks for the top clubs in Europe to offer him a contract.
Another major issue is that Ronaldo is not as fast as he used to be a few years ago. However, 24 goals in 38 appearances for Manchester United last season proved that he is still a prolific goal scorer. So, Cristiano can offer a lot of goals wherever he goes, but no manager can count him as a runner. In other words, his work rate has slowed down in recent seasons. Therefore, some top clubs are not keen on bringing him to their respective squads. Here are five European clubs who will take part in the UEFA Champions League in the 2022-2023 season, which can sign Ronaldo for next season.
Read Chelsea signs Senegal defender Koulibaly from Napoli
Atletico Madrid
This was probably the last option for Ronaldo when he decided to leave Manchester United a couple of months ago. Cristiano Ronaldo is a Real Madrid legend, and his decision to play for one of their bitter rivals, Atletico Madrid, will undoubtedly raise eyebrows among Los Blancos supporters. However, Ronaldo playing for Atletico Madrid next season seems like a more realistic and possible option at the moment. If he lowers his current salary and Diego Simeone wants a pure hitman, then Ronaldo is still one of the best options in Europe. In addition, Ronaldo will boost Atletico Madrid’s global appeal through his star power.
Sporting Lisbon
At his current age, why not go back to where it all started? Sporting Lisbon could be another option for Cristiano if he wants to play in the Champions League next season. Many experts believe the Portuguese club is one of the options in the Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer football transfer 2022 saga. However, Sporting can’t afford Ronaldo’s wage and they may not even reach the knockout phase of the competition. Sporting will be delighted to have him in their squad. Ronaldo has to sacrifice a few things if he picks Sporting Lisbon as his next club.

Bayern Munich
Cristiano’s preferred choice is Bayern Munich. Agent Jorge Mendes has offered Ronaldo to Bayern Munich, but they haven’t shown great interest in him. The German club is not so keen on bringing the soon to be 38-year old footballer to the club. Bayern decision makers believe Ronaldo doesn’t suit their system and they want a young, potent striker in their squad. There is still a possibility that Ronaldo may be signed by Bayern before the transfer window closes.
Chelsea
Chelsea’s new owner, USA-based Todd Boehly, wants a marquee signing to give a statement to the other Premier League clubs. He has a desire to sign superstar footballers like Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo but needs to be approved by his club manager, Thomas Tuchel. According to multiple sources, Tuchel is particularly not keen on bringing either of the players to Chelsea. There is a concern that star players can spoil the harmony of the squad. Having said that, Ronaldo’s experience in Premier League football and his ability to score goals can’t be denied. Ronaldo moving to London to play for Chelsea is still a possibility.
Read Barcelona set to sign striker Lewandowski from Bayern Munich
PSG
PSG may go for Cristiano Ronaldo if Neymar leaves the club this season. However, Neymar leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer transfer window is highly unlikely and complicated. Besides, Neymar is in the plans of PSG’s new head coach, Christophe Galtier. Therefore, Ronaldo’s chances to play for PSG in the 2022-2023 season are almost over. However, anything is possible until the final day of the transfer deadline.
Verdict
Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t want to leave Europe for a new challenge. His main priority is always to compete in the Champions League competition. However, the financial aspect and age have become major issues to take Cristiano out of Manchester United. Besides, the chances of Ronaldo playing in the USA’s Major League Soccer or in any of Asia’s wealthiest clubs are absolutely slim. The Portuguese star will most likely stay with Man Utd next season if his agent fails to find a perfect suitor for him. The saga of Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer football transfer 2022 will continue until the deadline.

SAfrica spoils Stokes’ final ODI with 62-run win vs. England
Rassie van der Dussen’s career-best 134 and Anrich Nortje’s four wickets led South Africa to a 62-run victory over England in staggering heat to spoil Ben Stokes’ final one-day international appearance on Tuesday.
The Proteas recorded 333 for five as Van der Dussen, who hit his third ODI century, shared century stands with Janneman Malan (57) and Aiden Markram (77) after winning the toss at Riverside Ground in the opener of the three-match series. Van der Dussen’s previous ODI high was 129 not out against India in January.
England was all out for 271 in response on a day of record heat across Britain, where the temperature hit 40.3 degrees Celsius (104.5 degrees Fahrenheit). Matthew Potts, on his debut, bowled four overs before feeling ill and leaving the field.
“He went off to cool down, but I don’t think he ever quite felt well enough to come back on,” captain Jos Buttler said.
Stokes, who announced he’s retiring from ODIs to ease his workload as test captain and for Twenty20s, bowled five wicketless overs for 44 runs before being dismissed for five. It was Stokes’ 105th ODI appearance and he left to a standing ovation.

Liam Livingstone’s spin accounted for the two top scorers — Van der Dussen clean bowled and Markram holing out in the space of three deliveries. Sam Curran, Moeen Ali and Brydon Carse each took one apiece.
England openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow shared a 102-run partnership before Roy (43) holed out off captain Keshav Maharaj in the 19th over. Markram then had Bairstow (63) leg before wicket to leave the hosts at 125 for 2.
In stepped Stokes but not for long. He made just 5 from 11 balls before missing on an attempted reverse sweep for leg before wicket to Markram.

Joe Root kept things interesting with 86 runs off 77 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes, before Anrich Nortje enticed him to deflect it into his stumps as England slumped to 252 for 7. That was after Buttler and Moeen Ali were undone by the spin of Tabraiz Shamsi and after Livingstone dragged Lungi Ngidi into his stumps.
Nortje then took the remaining three wickets.
The second ODI is Friday at Old Trafford.
