Kurigram, Oct 11 (UNB) – Police arrested three people for allegedly attacking them and injuring two policemen for fining two shop owners during a mobile court drive at Ziabazar in Kurigram district town on Thursday.
Police sources said the mobile court headed by executive magistrate Fatema Khatun conducted a mobile court at the market and fined two shop owners of Maria store and Nirob store in the area TK 5,000 each for carrying pulse in polythene bags.
Following the fine, traders of the market swooped on policemen and trapped the magistrate for a while and pelted bricks on their car, that left SI Sharif and SI Fazlul Haque injured.
Later, police brought the situation under control by throwing five rounds of bullets and arrested three people for their alleged involvement in the attack, said Mahfuzur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kurigram Sadar Police Station.
