The Swiss delegation arrived here on Sunday on a four-day visit.
Ambassador Raphael Nageli, Assistant State Secretary for Asia-Pacific of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, and Ambassador Kamrul Ahsan, Secretary (Bilateral and Consular), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, will lead the respective delegations during the consultations.
The two sides will review the progress made so far and discuss ways to further strengthening relations in the areas of economy, development cooperation and humanitarian aid.
Both the countries will also discuss a wide range of multilateral, regional and global topics of mutual interest during the consultations, according to Swiss Embassy in Dhaka.
The Swiss delegation, which also includes Ambassador Thomas Gass, the Assistant Director General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC, will visit Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar to get a first-hand impression about the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Ambassador Nageli and the Swiss delegation will meet with the representatives of the civil society and business, diplomatic community, international organizations and INGOs during their visit.
