Dhaka, Mar 16 (UNB) - BNP special secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon has been released from jail on bail, nearly a month after he was sent to jail in four violence cases.
“I was released from Dhaka Central Jail (Keraniganj) on Friday evening after the bail order in the four cases reached the jail authorities,” Ripon told UNB.
He said the High Court granted him bail in the cases on March 4. “But it took 11 days to reach the bail order to the jail authorities.”
On February 18 last, Ripon was sent to jail after as a Dhaka court denied him bail in the four cases filed in connection with street violence.
