Cox’s Bazar, Sept 15 (UNB) – A Chinese delegation, led by Chinese ambassador in Dhaka Li Jiming, visited the Rohingyas stranded in the no man's land between Bangladesh and Myanmar in Ghumdhum of Bandarban’s Naikhongchari upazila on Sunday.
The delegation exchanged views with the Rohingyas around 1pm when the refugees said they will return home, on condition of being granted citizenship.
Dil Mohammad, a Rohingya leader of the area, said they cannot believe Myanmar government as they (Myanmar) violated their trust many times before.
‘’We would return only when we get citizenship and our assets back,” he added.
Asked about discouragement from NGOs or ARSA to be repatriated, Dil Mohammad told the Chinese delegation that no one is stopping them to be repatriated.
The rumor was spread from Myanmar side, he claimed.
