The Communist Party of China has greeted Prime Minister and Bangladesh Awami League President Sheikh Hasina on her 73rd birthday with a pledge to strengthen relations with her party.
"As a senior political leader of great stature, your contribution has been significant to both the national development of Bangladesh and the promotion of China-Bangladesh relations," reads the letter signed by Song Tao, Minister of International Department of Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
The CPC said with Sheikh Hasina's care and support, the Bangladesh Awami League and the CPC have deepened their relations through productive cooperation, providing important political guidance on the development of China-Bangladesh strategic partnership of cooperation.
The CPC also said it stands ready to further strengthen its exchanges and cooperation with the Awami League to build a new type of party-to-party relations that seeks to expand common ground while reserving differences and enhances mutual respect and mutual learning, as well as facilitate high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, so that China-Bangladesh relations will witness steady progress, and bring even greater benefits to two countries and two peoples.
The 73rd birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is being celebrated across the country on Monday.
