Cumilla, Mar 5 (UNB) – The High Court on Tuesday fixed Wednesday to deliver its order on the petition filed seeking bail to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in a case filed over killing of eight people in an arson attack on a bus in Chouddagram upazila in 2015.
A bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice SM Mozibur Rahman fixed the date after concluding the hearing.
Former Attorney general AJ Mohammad Ali stood for Khaleda while incumbent Attorney General Mahbubey Alam represented the state.
Earlier on February 27, Khaleda’s lawyer filed the bail petition with the HC as a lower court in Cumilla rejected her bail application on February 4.
Eight people were killed and 20 others injured when miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at a bus at Jogmohanpur in Chouddagram of Cumilla district during the BNP-led alliance's movement on February 3, 2015.
