Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam has been elected the chairman of Steering Committee for South and West Asian region of C40 – a network of the world’s megacities committed to addressing climate change.
Eric Garcetti, mayor of Los Angeles informed the news through an email, according to a press release.
Eric also congratulated Atiq for being elected chairman of C40 Steering Committee for the South and West Asian region.
Last year, Mayor Atiq attended C40 conference in Denmark from September 9-12 and delivered speech on various topics, including creating healthy environment in the cities and decreasing carbon emission by tree plantation.
