Dhaka, Sept 30 (UNB) - Experts at a knowledge-sharing workshop have demanded of government policy and cooperation to promote the ‘eco-village’ concept to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
They also opined that the government should adopt the eco-village development as one of their core strategies of low carbon development and ensure the long-term socio-economic development.
The workshop titled “Evidence-based Advocacy for Low Carbon, Pro-Poor Sustainable Eco-Village Development (EVD)” was held at COAST Trust conference room in the city’s Shyamoli area on Saturday.
Santosh Patnaik of CANSA (Climate Action Network South Asia) and Mahabub Alam of Grammeen Shakti presented keynote papers on the ‘eco-village’ concept at the workshop moderated by Syed Aminul Hoqueof EquityBD.
Nafizur Rahaman, Director of Renewable Energy Development Authority (Sreda), was present as an expert guest.
