A resident of Gopalganj Sadar upazila’s Raghunathpur village suffering from fever, cold and cough was admitted to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital on Tuesday night.
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Sadiqur Rahman Khan put several houses of the woman’s neighbours under lockdown.
Gopalganj Civil Surgeon Dr Niaz Mohammad said the woman, 28, was admitted to the isolation unit of Gopalganj General Hospital on Tuesday.
The doctors collected her samples for tests and later referred her to Dhaka hospital for better treatment as her condition deteriorated.
Three doctors, an auto-rickshaw driver and her relatives who came in touch with the woman were sent to home quarantine, the official added.
