Dhaka, Sept 16 (UNB) – Customs Intelligence officials on Sunday seized a consignment of illegally imported medicines worth Tk 1 crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Director General Dr Shahidul Islam said Jamal, a passenger, arrived at the airport by a flight TK-0712 from Egypt around 5 am.
When Jamal was trying to cross the green zone of the airport, the CIID team intercepted him and recovered the medicines from the his two luggage.
The sized medicines included Duphaston-12,000 pieces, Mixtard-2000 pieces, Neoral 25 mg-15000 pieces, Neoral 50 mg-2000 pieces and Novo Rapid-250 pieces.
Later, the customs officials seized the passport of Jamal.
