Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary on Thursday directed the Superintendent of Police (SPs) in district levels to investigate all the cases efficiently and with proper care.
Addressing a monthly crime review meeting of Dhaka Range at its office in the capital Javed Patwary came up with the remarks.
“The perpetrators should be brought under the justice with intense monitoring; specially the cases of violence against women including torture, rape and gang rape.”, he said.
IGP said that it is the responsibility of police to reach service to the people and raise a sense of security among them. “We must make ensure that no innocent person is harassed and Bangladesh police have to become people friendly.” he added.
Thirteen police officers were rewarded for their outstanding contribution in various fields at the meeting chaired by Habibur Rahman, DIG of Dhaka Range.
Gopalganj district SP Muhammad Saidur Rahman Khan was selected as the best SP.
