According to a NBR statement on Tuesday, the oranisation bagged Tk 357,79,55,734 income tax while TK 1,19,145 was submitted as returns on the sixth day of the fair.
The NBR also collected a total of Tk 2016,45,21,120 income tax and Tk 5,39,910 were submitted as returns in the last six days.
A total of 5,325 people received electronic TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) on Tuesday while the total number of e-TIN registration in the fairs was 26,831 in six days.
The annual tax fair started on November 14, aiming to provide one-stop tax-related services to the taxpayers and hassle-free environment for submission of tax returns.
Earlier, NBR chairman Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan set a target of collecting more than Tk 3,000 crore as revenue during the tax fairs that are expected to be held in 120 places across the country this year.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday the fair begun at new places in 18 upazilas - Ashulia in Dhaka, Sonargaon in Narayanganj, Galachipa and Kalapara in Patuakhali, Nayapara in Jessore, Kaliganj in Jhenaidah, Mongla in Bagerhat, Kaliganj in Satkhira, Fulbari in Dinajpur, Chowmuhani in Noyakhali, Ashuganj in Brahmanbaria, Muktagacha in Mymensingh, Nalitabari in Sherpur, Shahjadpur in Sirajganj, Gobindaganj in Gaibandha, Singra in Natore, Chakaria in Cox’s Bazar and at Sreepur in Gazipur.
The last date of return submission is November 30.
