Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, confirmed the matter on Tuesday at a press conference and said that they have set a target to collect more than Tk 3,000 crore as revenue during the tax fair.
The NBR will organise its 10th annual Tax Fair at the Officers’ Club in the capital that will continue until November 20 while the fairs at district level will be held for 3-4 days.
NBR sources said that in addition to seven divisional headquarters, the fair will also begin at six districts -Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Gazipur, Madaripur, Cumilla and Bogura and three upazilas- Chauddagram of Cumilla, Madhabdi and Raipura of Narsingdi.
Separate booths of Sonali Bank, Janata Bank and BASIC Bank will be installed at the fair venues for receiving taxes.
The fair will remain open from 9 am to 5 pm for taxpayers and visitors. Like previous year the highest taxpayers will be awarded this year.
