Bangladesh also sought continued support from Japan to achieve its development goals and discussed ways to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
“We hope the relations between Bangladesh and Japan will be strengthened,” Japanese Ambassador in Dhaka Hiroyasu Izumi told reporters after his meeting with Foreign Minister Dr Momen.
Terming Japan one of the best friends of Bangladesh’, Minister Momen said they have been helping Bangladesh since the very beginning of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“We discussed ways of cooperation and roadmaps,” he said adding that Bangladesh is seeking continued support from its development partners.
On Rohingya issue, the Japanese Ambassador said Japan stands beside Bangladesh and is committed to continuing support to Bangladesh on the Rohingya issue. “We sincerely hope there’ll be a solution.”
