Cox’s Bazar, Oct 22 (UNB) - Hundreds of locals came together on Tuesday to mark the launch of Digital Island allowing residents of Maheshkhali to enjoy faster internet facilities and other services.
The Digital Island is a comprehensive programme that links one of Bangladesh’s most isolated communities to the world through the country’s fastest internet speeds.
Maheshkhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Jamirul Islam inaugurated the project, the first Public Private Partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Korea Telecom, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division of the Bangladesh and Computer Council (BCC), said a media release issued by IOM.
