Dhaka, Jan 22 (UNB) - Police on Tuesday arrested the prime accused of the case filled over the killing of Jamuna Bank ATM Booth security guard from Bashundhara residential area in the city.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Bhatara Police Station detained Faruk around 3:00 pm, said Sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman of the police station.
The accused was shown arrested in the case filed with Bhatara Police Station.
Nazrul Islam Shamim, 24, of Fhulbari area in Kurigram district, who worked as a security guard of a private security company, was murdered while on duty at the ATM booth at Baridhara J Block on Sunday night.
Later, police recovered the body on Monday morning from inside the booth and detained three people in this connection for interrogation.
Meanwhile, family members of the victim alleged that Shamim might have been killed over a dispute centring a mobile phone, which was bought from the prime suspect Faruk for Tk 5,000.
As Shamim wanted to return back the mobile phone as it was out of order within a couple of days, a dispute ensued between them, they added.
