A young man, suffering from fever, cold and sore throat, died at his residence at Alipur on Alauddin Kha road in Faridpur district town on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Raihan Fakir, 32.
Civil Surgeon Dr Siddiqur Rahman said the man had been suffering from fever, cold and diarrhoea for the last several days.
A medical team collected samples from the deceased and will send them to Faridpur Medical College Hospital on Thursday for coronavirus testing.
Bangladesh on Wednesday reported 1,541 new coronavirus cases with 22 more deaths.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country now stand at 38,292 and the death at 544, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
