Satkhira, July 23 (UNB) – A fisherman who went missing while netting fish in a river in Shyamnagar upazila on Monday was found dead on Tuesday morning.
Police recovered the body of Faruk Hossain, son of late Shahid Moral of Bandokati village, from Kholpetua River near the Nildumur BGB camp around 9am.
Officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar Police Station Hafizur Rahman said Faruk went missing in the river around 11am on Monday after his legs got entangled with the net rope while netting fish.
Fellow fishermen failed to rescue him after frantic efforts and later informed firefighters.
The body was found floating in the river near the BGB camp on Tuesday morning.
