Dhaka, Sep 3 (UNB) – No syndicate should be formed over sending Bangladeshi workers to Malaysia, said Benjir Ahmed, president of Association of International Recruiting Agencies (Baira).
“We unanimously agreed so that every member of Baira can send workers to Malaysia,” he told a discussion at city’s Eskaton area.
“No syndicate should be formed in this regard,” he added.
Benjir said a vested group is plotting to damage the labour market with fake and confusing information. Baira and the ministry have been working closely against such attempts.
Baira Secretary General Shameem Ahmed Chowdhury Noman said they are optimistic that Malaysia’s labour market will reopen very soon.
“Our minister has already visited the country twice. We hope the labour market will be reopened quickly,” he said. “We’re working to make sure that there’re no syndicates.”
Replying to a question, the Baira president said they are trying to cut migration cost as per the minister’s directive.
“Many are trying to form syndicates,” he said. “We’re strictly against this.”
