Train communications of the district with other parts of the country resumed on Wednesday afternoon after two and half hours of suspension following the breakdown of the locomotive of a freight train in Mulibari rail crossing in Sadar upazila.
The rail link was restored around 3:45pm after a relief train salvaged the freight train, said Ismail Hossain, station master of Banghabandhu Bridge West Railway Station.
The engine of the stone-laden freight train went out of order around 1:15pm near the rail crossing, halting train communications of the district with the rest of the parts, including Dhaka.
