Benapole, Dec 15 (UNB) – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two youths along with eight gold bars from Putkhali border under Benapole Port Police Station on Friday night.
The arrestees are as Rony Akhter Babu, 30, son of Anisur Rahman of Balunda village and Yakub Ali, 28, son of Amirul Islam, a resident of Amla village in the upazila.
On information, a team of BGB conducted a drive in the area and arrested the duo while they were trying to smuggle the gold worth around TK 40 lakh to India, said Lieutenant Cornel Imram Ullah Sarkar,Commander of Khulna BGB-21.
The arrestees were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station.
A case was filed in the regard.
