According to Joy, he bought an 11CFT refrigerator priced at only Tk 24,800 from ‘Seba Electrical and Electronics’ at Motherganj Upazila of Jamalpur on May 25. He registered the product with his cell phone number and immediately received a message from Walton which stated that he got a new car free for purchasing the refrigerator.
On the other hand, a farmer Md Montaz Mollah bought a 13 CFT Walton refrigerator worth Tk 27,000 from Gurudaspur Walton Plaza and got a new car after digital registration of the product the following day.
Overwhelmed by the unexpected enormous gift, the duo jumped with happiness and the news went viral in those localities that created huge buzz among customers.
The new car was handed over to Joynal Abedin Joy on Tuesday (May 28, 2019) at a program near the Walton showroom there. The function was attended by Walton Deputy Director Md Mirazul Haque Mina, Mymensingh Range ASP Md Samiul Alam, ‘Seba Electrical and Electronics’ distributor Md Mostafizur Rahman and Walton area manager Rezwanur Rahman Chowdhury.
Montaz Mollah, however, has received his car, at a program arranged near Gurudaspur Walton Plaza in Natore in the next day. Member of Parliament Md Abdul Quddus from Natore-4 constituency, Gurudaspur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mizanur Rahman, Upazila Chairman Md Anwar Hossain, Gurudaspur Police Station acting officer-in-charge Md Mozaharul Islam and Walton area manager Akter Hamid Khan Shur were present in the program.
Joynal Abedin said, "I needed a refrigerator for my little shop. I know Walton products provide good service so I usually buy their products. But I didn’t even think that I would get a new car after purchasing the refrigerator. I will drive the car myself after getting a driving license soon.”
Meanwhile, expressing gratitude to Walton authorities, the 65-year-old landless peasant from Gurudaspur upazila, Montaz Mollah, said this car will end my financial hardships.
Kishoreganj Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) member Abdul Momin Bachchu and Mahin Uddin from Senbagh Upazila of Noakhali were awarded the brand new car each as they bought Walton refrigerators in May while Dhaka-based women entrepreneur Tania Mesbah also got a brand new car after buying Walton TV.
