"We need skilled and experienced leaders during the election. Skilled leaders are usually seen taking part in the election. But some of them are kept outside the election so that they can conduct the election activities properly,” he said while addressing a press briefing at the party chief’s Dhanmondi political office.
Quader was referring to party's joint general secretaries Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, and organising secretaries BM Mozammel Haque and AFM Bahauddin Nasim who failed to get the party nominations to contest the upcoming general election slated for December 30.
He said Prime Minister and party President Sheikh Hasina talked to them and advised them to work for the party. “She told them that all don’t participate in the election in democratic politics. Some stay away from the election for managing and handling the party activities. You can see Indian politics where it happens," he added.
About the Grand Alliance nominations, the ruling party leader said those who are popular and enjoy good position in their constituencies will get the tickets. “There’s nothing to be confused in this regard. The final and full list will be published before the withdrawal of candidature.”
Issuing a note of warning, he said those who will not withdraw the nomination as per the party decision will face tough actions.
