Sent in to bat first, Abahani Limited posted a total of 236 runs for 6 in 50 overs and later restricted Brothers Union Club to 222/8 in 50 overs.
It was the third win on the trot for Abahani Limited in the league while the second defeat for Brothers Union in three matches.
Brothers right-handed batsman Yasir Ali hit a century, but his effort went in vain as Brothers suffered the defeat.
In the match, Abahani posted the challenging total despite losing wickets on regular intervals.
They lost the first wicket when Jahid Javed was removed by Mehedi Hasan in just 12 runs. Wasim Jaffer, the Indian recruit of Abahani, failed to impress as he fell for eight off 26 deliveries.
Mohammad Saifuddin, the all-rounder, was the best performer of Abahani with the bat as he accumulated 59 runs with four fours and two sixes. Along with him, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, the captain of Abahani, was the other batsman of his team to hit a fifty scoring 54 runs with three fours.
Besides, Nazmul Hossain Shanto (44) and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (26) were the other contributors for Abahani.
Mehedi Hasan and Naeem Islam Jr took two wickets each for Brothers Union.
In reply, Brother Union lost four wickets before making 100 runs on the board. They lost three wickets along with their opening pair in just 32 runs.
Unlike the other batsmen of the team, Yasir Ali was firm in the middle. He struck his second List-A ton in the match. But at the end of the day, his effort went in vain.
With the unbeaten 106, Yasir was the best performer of Brothers with the bat. Along with him, Junaid Siddique (17), Chirag Jani (15), Fazle Mahmud (13), Sharifullah (21), Mohammad Sharif (17) and Naeem Islam Jr were the other batsmen to reach double-digit scores, but at the end of the day, they ended up with losing side.
Mashrafe and Sabbir Hossain took two wickets each for Abahani to ensure the victory. Saifuddin was awarded man of the match for his 59 runs and one wicket.
