Bangladesh, which put in the Group E of the AFC junior meet along with Qatar, Yemen and Bhutan, started their campaign conceding a 0-2 goals defeat against hosts Qatar in their first match on Thursday night but bounced back in the race crushing Bhutan by 3-0 goals in their second match on Friday.
On the other hand, Yemen outplayed Bhutan by 10-1 goals in the opening Group E match last Thursday and played a 1-1 draw with hosts Qatar in the second match on Friday night.
With the feat, Yemen topped the group list securing 4 points from two matches (11-2=9) while hosts Qatar is in the 2nd slot collecting 4 points due to poor goal difference (3-1=2), Bangladesh are in the 3rd slot earning 3 points while Bhutan is yet to open account.
Bangladesh boys made the practice and recovery sessions on Saturday ahead of their last group match against Yemen.
Ahead of the match, Bangladesh Head Coach Robert Martin Ryles said, “We are pleased with the team result against Bhutan and now we are looking for tomorrow’s game. Yemen is very strong side. We need to play our best game against them.”
