Dhaka, Sep 17 (UNB) – Bangladesh Under-16 Women’s Football team will play their second group match of the eight-nation AFC U-16 Women’s Championship against three times champion Japan on Wednesday at IPE Chonburi Stadium .
The match will kick-off at 3 pm (BdST).
Bangladeshi girls made physical training sessions followed by swimming and recovery sessions on Tuesday.
Ahead of the match, Bangladesh head coach Golam Rabbai Choton said, “Japan is the strong opponents, but we are well-prepared for them. Girls’ tried their best but made some silly mistakes in the first match against Thailand. We have worked on those mistakes. I hope they will play good football against Japan tomorrow.”
Bangladesh Captain Maria Manda said, “Despite playing attacking football, we lost previous match against Thailand. But tomorrow we will try to give a tough fight against Japan.”
Bangladesh, which put in four-team Group A alongside hosts Thailand, Australia and Japan conceded a 0-1 goal defeat against hosts Thailand in the opening match at Chonburi Stadium on Sunday, despite spoiling some good chances.
In their last group match, Bangladesh will play Australia on Saturday (Sept 21) at IPE Chonburi Stadium.
On the other hand, three-time champions Japan played goalless draw with Australia at at the IPE Chonburi Stadium on Sunday last.
Thailand is now in the top of the point table securing full three points, Australia and Japan followed the leader securing one point each while Bangladesh yet to open account.
