The match will kick-off at 5pm (BdST) at Leo Stadium in Thailand’s Pathum Thani.
Bangladeshi players are now in Thailand on a 10-day preparation camp ahead of the joint qualification matches for FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 against Laos.
After the preparation camp, Bangladesh will play their away match for joint qualifications against Laos on June 6 at 5pm (BdST) at the National Stadium in Vientiane. The home match against the same opponent is scheduled for June 11 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka at 7pm.
Bangladesh’s opponent, the BG Pathum United FC, have been promoted to the Thai professional football league Thai League 1 as the champions of Thai League 2 season 2018-19.
Ahead of the practice match, Bangladeshi booters had a busy Friday with a two-hour hard training session consisting dribbling, passing and man marking from 1pm at SP Football Academy Ground in Bangkok.
After training, the players had swimming and recovery sessions at the hotel pool and in the afternoon they had another session at the gym.
Bangladesh Head Coach Jamie Day believes the booters will be more confident after their Saturday’s match.
“Saturday match is a strong one against BG Pathum United. Our players will be energised to do better against Laos,” Jamie added.
Team Manager Satyojit Das Rupu said that the team have been improved and will not make any mistake.
“Our boys are now well trained and they won’t repeat mistakes of their first match,” he added.
Veteran footballer Mamunul Islam Mamun said these friendly matches help them finding their shortcomings.
“The friendly matches will be very helpful for us before we face Laos. We hope to have a good result,” Mamun added.
The team will return home from Laos on June 7.
