Chattogram, Dec 22 (UNB) – Cox’s Bazar district clinched the Chattogram divisional title of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup Primary School Football Tournament beating Brahmanbaria by 3-0 goals in the final at the MA Aziz Stadium here on Saturday.
Nayon Moni of Maheskhali Model Govt Primary School in Cox’s Bazar was named as the highest scorer while Imon Ahmed Badhon of Madrasah Govt Primary School of Brahmanbaria was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
Earlier, Chattogram district finished 3rd as they got walkover against their opponent in a place deciding match in the morning.
In the Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnessa Mujib Gold Cup Football Tournament, Brahmanbaria district emerged divisional champions beating Feni district by 1-0 goal in the final at the same venue on Saturday.
Arifa Akter of Bancharampur Model Govt Primary School was the highest scorer while Maria Alam Mithu of Shorsakjukta Govt Primary School of Shahrasti upazila of Chandpur district was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
Earlier in place-deciding match in the morning, Chandpur district finished 3rd beating hosts Chattogram district by 1-0 goal.
Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Mohammad Abdul Mannan witnessed the finals as the chief guest and late he distributed the prizes.
