Dhaka, Dec 27 (UNB) – Bangladeshi Candidate Master (CM) Subrota Biswas of Uttara Central Chess Club earned 6.5 points after the 9th or penultimate round of the Bhopal International Grandmasters Chess Tournament’2018, now being held in Bhopal, India, on Thursday.
Abzid Rahman of Janata Bank Officer Welfare Society earned 6 points, CM Sohel Chowdhury of Titas Club and Sazzad Kishor of Dhaka Knight’s Chess Club bagged 5.5 points each, Nayem Haque of Mir Chess Club collected 4 points while Ahsan Ali Jewel secured 2.5 points.
In the 9th round matches, CM Subrota lost to IM Vignesh of India, Abzid lost to GM RR Laxman of India, CM Sohel beat Akira Sowmyanatha Reddy of India, Sazzad outplayed Sarvade Mihiir of India, Nayem lost to Iniyan Sivakumar of India while Jewel lost to Kavya Jain of India.
