In the first match of day one, Sylhet Sixers will take on Rajshahi Kings at 2pm and hosts Chittagong Vikings will face defending champions Rangpur Riders at 7pm.
After the end of 28 matches of BPL’s league phase, Vikings are at the top of the points table with six victories from seven matches. Apart from them, every other team have played more than seven games.
Two former champions – Dhaka Dynamites and Comilla Victorians – are at number two and three in the points table with 10 points each. The Dynamites are ahead of the Victorians for a better run-rate (Dynamites +1.36, Victorians -0.03).
At the end of 28 matches, Rilee Rossouw sits atop the batting table with most runs – 359 in eight matches with four fifties. The South African recruit of the Riders is having a dream run in BPL.
Mushfiqur Rahim, Nicholas Pooran, Junaid Siddique and David Warner are the next batsmen in the list having scored 277, 272, 249 and 223 respectively.
Dynamites captain Shakib Al Hasan is leading wicket taker so far with 17 wickets in eight matches. His best bowling figure is 4 for 16.
Taskin Ahmed, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Shafiul Islam and Arafat Sunny are closely following Shakib. Taskin has bagged 16 wickets in eight matches while Mashrafe, Shafiul and Sunny took 13, 13 and 12 wickets respectively.
After the Chattogram phase, BPL will come back to Dhaka and the rest of the tournament will be played in the capital from February 1. The final of the tournament will be played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on February 8.
