Besides his directorship at BCB, Khan is now serving as Cricket Operations Committee chairman for the country’s highest governing body of cricket.
The favourite son of Chattogram, Khan played eight Tests and 44 ODIs for national side with his swansong in a Test match against South Africa at Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka in May 2003.
Born on November 1, 1968, Khan made an ODI debut against Pakistan in the Wills Asia Cup at his home venue MA Aziz Stadium in October 1988.
Khan is mostly popular among cricket fraternity for his successful role as captain to clinch the ICC Trophy 1997 in Malaysia with unbeaten record, which helped Bangladesh qualify for its first Cricket World Cup to participate in England in 1999.
