Sheikh Russel KC, having one point from first match, will play point-less Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club on Saturday (Dec 8) for another quarterfinal spot from the Group D.
Earlier in the day’s first match, Brothers Union Club played to a 1-1 draw with Muktijoddha Sangsad KC in Group C match in the afternoon.
Brazilian booter Lima scored first for the Gopibagh outfit, Brothers, in the 8th minute (1-0) while Sujon neutralised the margin for the freedom fighters’ team in the 24th minute (1-1).
Both the Brothers Union Club and Muktijoddha Sangsad KC are still in the quarterfinal race from Group C after Dhaka Abahani Limited collected one point each from one and two group encounters respectively.
However, Brothers Union Club will face group leader Dhaka Abahani Limited in the last match on Saturday (Dec 2) to decide the other quarterfinalist from the group.
Thirteen teams, split into four groups, are initially taking part in the meet with three semifinalists of the just concluded Federation Cup -- Bashundhara Kings, Sheikh Jamal DC and Sheikh Russel KC-- putting together in Group D.
