Bangladesh clinched the gold medals in the men’s singles, men’s doubles and women’s doubles while Indian shuttlers won the rest two gold medals in the women’s singles and mixed doubles.
Abdul Hamid Lokman of Bangladesh lifted the men’s singles crown beating his compatriot Sibgatulllah by 17-21, 22-20, 21-15 points while Bangladeshi pair Gourav Singh and Mongal Singh won the men’s doubles title defeating their compatriots Mohammad Hanif and Abdul Hamid Lokman by 21-16, 21-17 points in the finals.
Bangladeshi partner Reshma Akter and Urmi Akter clinched the women’s doubles crown beating other Bangladeshi pair Rahima Jerin and Camellia by 21-9, 22-20 points in the event’s final.
Tressa Jolly of India won the women’s singles crown beating Ruhi Raju of the USA by 21-15, 21-11 points while Tressa Jolly and Manob Raj of India lifted the mixed doubles title beating Bangladeshi pair Gourav Singh and Urmi Akter by 21-14, 21-14 points in the finals.
