After winning the toss Uttara, decided to bat first and posted 264 for eight wickets in 50 overs. Brothers replied strongly as Mizanur and Junaid posted 161 runs in the opening stand and reached the target in 48.2 overs (267/2) with eight wickets in hand.
In the first innings of the match, Tanzid Hasan (75), Anisul Islam Emon (58) and Mohimenul Khan (64) hit the fifties for Uttara. Along with them, Jony Talukdar (23) and Reza Ali Dar (19) also contributed in the team total.
For Brothers, Chirag Jani and Sharifullah bagged two wickets each while Mohammad Sharif took one.
In reply, Mizanur (108) and Junaid (92) set a solid foundation for Brothers while Fazle Rabbi hit 57 to ensure the win by eight wickets.
It was Brothers’ second win of the season after four rounds of play while in as many matches while Uttara suffered third loss.
In the other match of the day Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity beat Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) by 27 runs in Fatullah.
Khelaghar, who won the toss and batted first, posted a total of 212 for eight wickets in 50 overs. In reply, BKSP tumbled for 185/9 in 50 overs and lost the game by 27 runs.
For Khelghar, Robiul Islam Robi (75), Mahidul Islam Ankon (49) were the best scorers.
On the other hand, Hasan Murad took three wickets for BKSP while Shamim Hossain bagged two.
In reply, BKSP failed to impress while chasing a moderate target of 213. They were wrapped in for 185/9. Shamim was the only man to offer some resistance for BKSP as he struck 56.
For Khelaghar, Robiul Haque, Robiul Islam Robi, Ifran Hossain and Masum Khan took two wickets each while Tanvir Islam scalped one. Eventually, Khelaghar won the game by 27 runs.
It was Khelaghar’s first win of the season in four rounds while BKSP experienced their third loss.
After the fourth round of the league, Khelaghar are at number eight on the points while BKSP are at number nine.
