BDDFA President and Chattogram City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin inaugurated the program at a press conference at MA Aziz Stadium on Saturday.
BDDFA Secretary General Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin was also present at the programme sponsored by Saif Power Battery.
Through the process, 25 players will be selected among the 110 players, who were included in the scrutiny process. Earlier, a total of 110 players from each of the 11 districts of Chattogram Division were called for the scrutiny.
While speaking at the occasion, AJM Nasiruddin hoped that the initiate will bring a new dawn in the sky of Bangladesh football.
“In the recent times we have seen a decline in the country’s football with a lot of frustration, apart from a few successes in age level in international arena. We want to change the scenario by grooming the talents with systematic approach and emphasizing the U-20 booters,” Nasiruddin said.
BDDFA secretary general Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin said BDDFA wants form a new platform for the youth footballers.
“The process will create a new platform for the grassroots footballers. They will be able to elevate themselves for the bigger challenge. It’s the very first initiative for the U-20 footballers of the grassroots level,” said Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin.
BDDFA Vice-presidents Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir, Ashikur Rahman Miku and CJKS Media Committee convener Ali Abbas were also present on the occasion.
