This was the 2nd win for Shinepukur CC and the 4th defeat for Brothers Union in the league.
Sent in to bat first in a rain-interrupted 40-over-a-side match, Brothers scored 197 runs for five wickets in the stipulated overs with Junaid Siddique making 74, Chirag Jani 54 and Yasir Ali 39 runs.
Shoriful Islam and Shuvagata Home bagged two wickets each.
Chasing a revised target of 239 in 40 overs, Shinepukur easily reached the goal scoring 240 for the loss of two wickets in 35.4 overs and won the game by eight wickets under the DLS method.
Shadman Islam (77) and Sabbir Hossain (30) added 61 runs in the first wicket stand, but Indian Unmukt Chand was the best batsman contributing an unbeaten 90 in his first appearance in the league. He struck nine fours and two sixes in his 83-ball innings and was adjudged man of the match.
BKSP vs Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club
In the day’s other match, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club registered their 5th win in the league beating Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) by three wickets at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
This was the 4th loss for BKSP in the league.
Sent in to bat first, BKSP were dismissed for 160 runs in 44.4 overs against superb bowling by Prime Doleshwar with Prantik Nawroz Nabil contributing team highest 30 runs.
Besides, Akbar Ali (28), Mahmudul Hasan Joy (22) and Shamim Hossain (20) were the other notable scorers for BKSP reaching the double figure.
For Prime Doleshwar, Arafat Sunny, Shykat Ali and Enamul Haque Jnr bagged two wickets each.
In reply, Prime Doleshwar chased the target in 45 overs making 165 for 7.
Saif Hassan, who struck back-to-back centuries in the last two matches, fell for a duck while his partner Imranuzzaman also failed scoring only seven runs.
Prime Doleshwar lost four wickets in 50 runs but in the fifth wicket stand, Sykat Ali and Taibur Rahman added 57 runs on the board and guided their team to the victory.
Shykat Ali scored 43 and Taibur remained unbeaten on 61 runs.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib bagged three wickets while Naushad Iqbal took two for them.
