Sent in to bat first, Prime Doleshwar posted 248 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs with Taibur Rahman contributing team highest 72 runs and Marshall Ayub 68 runs.
Shafiul Islam and Alauddin Babu took three wickets each for Mohammedan.
In reply, Mohammedan chased the target in the last ball of the match scoring 251 for 9 to win the match by one wicket and became the only team after Abahani Limited to win three matches in a row. This was first defeat for Prime Doleshwar in the league.
At one stage, Mohammedan needed 124 runs from 19 overs with only three wickets in hand. They successfully did it with the help of Shohag Gazi’s 70 off 51 featuring three fours and five sixes.
Mohammedan lost five wickets inside 107 runs and they looked to be out of the contest. But at the end, they came up victorious relying on the batting of Shohag Gazi, Nadif Chowdhury (30), Irfan Shukkur (30) and Alauddin Babu (38).
The name of Shafiul Islam is also to be noted as he hit a match-winning boundary in the last ball.
Later, Shohag Gazi was adjudged the man of the match award.
Farhad Reza took four wickets for Prime Doleshwar while Shykat Ali and Saad Nasim took two wickets each.
In the day’s other matches, Gazi Group Cricketers beat Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity by three wickets at BKSP in Savar and Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan beat Uttara Sporting Club by 209 runs in Fatullah.
In Savar, Khelaghar SKS batted first and were all out for 138 in 47.5 overs. Mahidul Islam Ankon (57) was the only man to offer some resistance with the bat.
Ashok Al Menaria (15) and captain Nazimuddin (21) were the other batsmen to score double-digit runs. Kamrul Islam Rabbi, the right-arm pacer, took five wickets for Gazi Group and won the man of the match award while Mehedi Hasan bagged two wickets.
In reply, Gazi Group won the match by three wickets in scoring 142 for 7 in 39.5 overs. Shamsur Rahman and Parvez Rasool hit fifties for them. Robiul Haque bagged five wickets for Khelaghar, but his effort was not enough to avoid the third consecutive loss. On the other hand, it was the second win of Gazi Group in the league so far.
In Fatullah, Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Sumon Khan helped BKSP register their first win in the ongoing Premier League.
Batting first, BKSP posted 201 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs with the help of 66 of Mahmudul Hasan. Along with him, Aminul Islam (33), Parves Hossain Emon (27), Shamim Hossain (22) also contributed with the bat.
Nahid Hossain and Abdul Gaffar took two wickets for Uttara SC.
In reply, Uttara SC were dismissed for 181 runs in 49 overs. Raza Ali Dar and Shakhir Hossain hit the fifties for Uttara, but they failed to win the game for their team.
Sumon Khan took four wickets for BKSP while Abu Naser and Hasan Murad bagged two wickets each as well.
