All-rounder Farhad Reza registered a five-wicket haul and Saif Hassan struck a ton to help them to outplay Gazi. Prime Doleshwar captain Farhad awarded man of the match for his outstanding effort both with the ball and bat.
Prime Doleshwar won the toss and opted to bowl first. Gazi posted 230 all-out in 49.1 overs. Prime Doleshwar chased the target in 45.5 overs with six wickets in hand scoring 231/4.
Gazi Group lost both of their openers just in 22 runs, and disappointed to turn around while batting first in the match.
Farhad, the right-handed all-rounder, scalped both of the first two wickets of Gazi as Mehedi Hasan fell for one while the other opener- Myshukur Rahman- managed only 12 before the removal. He also took the third wicket when Imrul Kayes, left-handed batsman of Gazi, failed once again to impress and fell for 14 which his first double-digit score in the ongoing league.
Rony Talukdar, the former national batsman, scored 17 before falling prey to Arafat Sunny.
Crawling at 49 for four, Gazi got their best partnership in the match when Shamsur Rahman and Parvez Rasool added 104 runs in the fifth wicket stand. Rasool struck his second successive fifty (67) in the league while Shamsur posted 45 on the board.
Abu Hider, Nasum Ahmed and Kamrul Islam Rabbi also contributed with the bat in the tail by hitting hit 29, 19 and 11 respectively.
Farhad was the best bowler for Prime Doleshwar as he took five wickets conceding 40 runs while Shykat Ali scalped three wickets, and Arafat Sunny bagged two.
While replying, Prime Doleshwar managed a moderate total of 16 in the opening stand as Shykat Ali fell as the first batsman just for nine.
However, Saif Hassan was impressive with the bat as he recorded 102 off 124 with four fours and six sixes to his name. It was Saif’s third ton in List-A career.
Losing four wickets, Gazi reached to 189. Along with Saif, Farhad Hossain (19), Marshall Ayub (32), Saad Nasim (35*) and Farhad Reza (21*) also contributed with the bat in hand, and thus, Prime Doleshwar have ensured their third win of the season.
With this defeat, Gazi Group suffered their second loss of the season. Depending on the latest win, Doleshwar ended the fourth round of the league at number three on the points table. On the other hand, Gazi are at number seven with two wins and as many as losses in four rounds of the league.
