Netrokona, Jan 12 (UNB) – The final selection of Mymensingh Division players for the proposed Sheikh Kamal Under-20 National Football Championship will be held at Netrokona Adhunik Stadium on Sunday.
Thirty footballers to be picked up from initially selected 60 players from four districts of division to form the Mymensingh Division team for the proposed U-20 Divisional Tournament scheduled for next April.
The initiative was taken by Bangladesh District and Divisional Football Association (BDDFA) and sponsored by Saif Power Battery.
President of Netrokona District Football Association (NDFA) Saif Khan Biplob disclosed this at press conference at Netrokona Adhunik Stadium premises on Saturday afternoon.
NDFA General Secretary Saidur Rahman, Vice-president of Netrokona DSA Abu Naser Talukder Milu and co-ordinator of BDDFA Ahmed Sayed Al Fattah also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the selection trial for Sylhet Division will be held on January 16-17 at Adhunik Stadium in Habiganj, Khulna Division on January 25-26 at Bir Shreshtha Nur Mohammad Stadium in Narail, Barisal Division on February 1-2 at Shaheed Abdur Rab Serniabad Stadium in Barisal, Dhaka Division on February 8-9 at Sheikh Jamal Stadium in Faridpur while Rajshahi Division on February 13-14 at Sankar Gobindha Chowdhury Stadium in Natore.
The players selection trial for Chattogram Division was held at MA Aziz Stadium on November 11-12 while the process for Rangpur Division was held on November 23-24 at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari.
Earlier in last November, on the eve of the player selection process, BDDFA President and CCC Mayor AJM Nasiruddin and BDDFA Secretary General Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin hoped that the initiative would bring a new dawn in the sky of Bangladesh football and will create a new platform for the youth booters of the country.
