Dhaka, July 18 (UNB) – The eight-team final round of the BFF-Unicef U-16 (Talent Hunt) National Football Championship begins on Saturday at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mustafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur here.
Eight district teams, split into two groups, will participate in the final round of 70-minute affairs.
On the opening day (Saturday). Mymensingh will play Rangamati at 2 pm while Lalmonirhat will face Gopalganj at 4 pm.
FIFA council member and chairman of the BFF Women’s Football Wing Mahfuza Akhter Kiron disclosed this at press conference at the BFF House on Thursday. Unicef Communication Officer (Advocacy and Partnership) Iftikhar Ahmed Chowdhury and BFF general secretray Abu Nayeem Shohaq also spoke on the occasion.
Participating teams are: Group A – Memensingh, Lalmonithat, Gopalganj and Rangamati.
Group B - Magura, Khagracharri, Rajshahi and Narayanganj.
On completion of the first phase league basis matches on July 25, two top teams from each of the group will play in the semifinal on July 26. The final match will be held on July 27.
