Speaking to the press ahead of his side's first friendly game of pre-season in Houston, the United States on Saturday, Zidane was asked over the chase for the World Cup winner, who would supposedly command a price close to 200 million U.S. dollars.
"We have to respect the way things are," said Zidane. "At the club we know what we want and what could happen until August 31st. We can make changes until then with people leaving and also arriving."
Although he insisted in "respecting" the current situation, Zidane did admit that Real Madrid, "has a plan and we will see what will happen... What will happen in the future will happen. We know what we want to do and we are working on it," he commented.
Zidane also commented on new signing Eden Hazard, who will make his debut against Bayern Munich on Saturday night (U.S. time).
"We know what kind of a player he is and we expect him to be important. Hazard is a player who can make a difference and that is very important in football these days. I am certain he will give us something extra," said Zidane.
