Three children died after the house they were in collapsed due to a landslide that occurred after a heavy down pour in western Uganda.
Uganda Red Cross Society, a humanitarian agency, on Thursday said the incident occurred on Wednesday night in Kilembe valley in Kasese district.
Government on Oct. 28 issued a 'Flood Risk Alert' warning that about 24 districts across the country are likely to face floods as the ongoing rain season is at its peak.
The weather department said that the rains are expected to bring about flooding especially in urban areas and low lying areas, mudslides in the mountainous areas and lightning strikes coupled with strong winds.
Government on Monday said that it had distributed an assortment of relief items to several parts of the country that are currently facing heavy rains.
