Noakhali, Jan 9 (UNB) – Two more accused in a case filed over the gang-rape of a woman in Subarnachar upazila reportedly confessed before a court here on Wednesday to their involvement in the incident.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Nabanita Guha recorded the statements of Mohammad Sohel and Jasim Uddin, said officer-in-charge of district Detective Branch of police M Abul Khayer.
Earlier, Salauddin and Abul Hossain made confession over the gang-rape.
On Sunday, seven accused -– Sohel, Jasim, Badshah Alam Basu, Ruhul Amin, Hasan Ali Bhulu, Swapan and Bechu -- were placed on a five-day remand over the gang-rape.
On the third of the remand, Sohel and Jasim agreed to give confessional statements, said the OC.
Meanwhile, the remand hearing for another accused Murad will be held on Thursday.
Ten people have so far been arrested over the gang-rape.
The woman, a mother of four, was gang-raped at Charjubli village in the upazila on December 31 by a gang of 10-12 people allegedly being ordered by Ruhul Amin after the general election.
