Sylhet, Jan 20 (UNB) –Twenty one Bangladeshi nationals returned home on Sunday after serving different jail terms in India.
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and Assam Police handed over the Bangladeshi nationals to the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at No Man’s Land along Sheula land port in Bianibazar upazila around 4:30 pm.
BGB sources said all the arrestees, hailing from different parts of the country, were detained by law enforcers of India from separate places and awarded different jail sentence.
After completion of their jail term, the Indian government took necessary steps to send them back to the country.
Oboni Shanker, officer-in-charge of Beanibazar Police Station, said among them, 15 were handed over to their respective family members while the rest six are now under police custody.
