Eighty-nine of them were hospitalised in Dhaka, the Directorate General of Health Services said in a regular update.
Bangladesh was hit by a massive outbreak of the mosquito-borne disease this year. The huge number of patients overwhelmed the country’s medical system.
Since January, 95,372 people were hospitalised with dengue. Of them, 94,211 made full recovery.
Currently, 913 patients are undergoing treatment at hospitals – 386 of them in Dhaka.
The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research has received 248 reports of dengue-related deaths. It has reviewed 171 of them and confirmed 107 cases.
WHO says there is no specific treatment for dengue or severe dengue but early detection and access to proper medical care lowers fatality rates below one percent.
